Taking Control of the Pests in Your Home
Pests are a danger to your home. They have the potential to cause certain damages to your home, especially if there are many critters. If you see pests swarming in your home, you need to kill them off as soon as possible. If you’re brave enough to do this, here are some tips on doing pest control by yourself:
Use an effective pest spray
Pest sprays are very important when it comes to killing pests. It’s one of the most effective and widely used techniques done by everyone, even professionals. They come in two variations:
Chemical pest spray
Chemical pest spray is still commonly used by everyone today. Despite the effectiveness of this spray, it contains harmful elements that might endanger the health of the person once it’s been inhaled. When professional pest exterminators do their job, they make sure that all the objects in your home are covered and occupants of the home need to stay away for safety purposes.
Natural pest spray
Unlike chemical pest spray, natural sprays cause less harm to one’s health. The ingredients used for this pest spray contains fewer chemicals, and the chemicals used are less damaging or does no harm at all. However, the downside of using this pest spray is that it takes time to prepare and it’s less effective when compared to the chemical ones.
Put essential oils in the infected area
If you don’t want to use pest spray, use essential oils** instead for pest control. Some of the most effective essential oils include peppermint oil, rosemary oil, lemongrass, citronella, and many others. All you need to do is to pour these oils in the area where the rodents have made their nest. The smell of the oils will make the pests move away from the area.
**Warning – essential oils are harmful to cats and dogs, so please do not use these oils when in the presence of your pets.
